Settings for Windows 7
Turn on network discovery and file sharing
- Open Control Panel and go to Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center.
- Click Change advanced sharing settings.
- Turn on Network discovery and File and printer sharing.
- Configure Password protected sharing for your network, then save the changes.

Share a folder
- Right-click the folder and select Properties.
- Open the Sharing tab and click Advanced Sharing.
- Turn on Share this folder, then configure the share name and permissions.


- On the Security tab, click Edit and grant the required permissions. Choose Full Control if Owlfiles should be able to edit and delete files.

Find your username and set a password
Open Control Panel > User Accounts. Use this account name when connecting, and create a password if the account does not have one.

Find your computer name
- Open File Explorer.
- Right-click Computer and select Properties.
- Find the computer name.

Find your IP address
- Open Command Prompt.
- Run
ipconfig. - Find the IPv4 address for the network connection you are using.

Troubleshooting
If the connection times out, confirm that both devices are on the same network and allow File and Printer Sharing through Windows Firewall.
If Windows file sharing still does not work, you can install Redfish on the computer and connect to its IP address on port 20445.
