Set Up a Connection

Auto Discovery

FE File Explorer can discover SMB, FTP, and WebDAV services on your local network.

  1. Open FE File Explorer on your Mac.
  2. Click the + button, then select the type of location you want to connect to, such as Windows, Mac, or NAS.
  3. Servers and computers on your local network appear in Network Neighborhood.

  1. Select the server you want to connect to, then enter its username and password.

If the server belongs to a Windows domain, enter the username as Domain\UserName or UserName@Domain.

Set Up a Connection Manually

  1. Open FE File Explorer on your Mac.
  2. Click the + button, then select the type of location you want to add.
  3. Enter the server name or IP address.
  4. Enter the username and password used to sign in to that server.
