Enable file sharing
Windows File Sharing may not be enabled. If it’s disabled, please use the following steps to enable it.
1. Select a folder in windows explorer
2. Right click and choose "Sharing and Security..."
3. If the window is like the screenshot below, file sharing is not enabled. Click the link highlighted to enable file sharing

Then you should see one of screenshots below. Select the checkbox and input the “Share name”, then click “OK”.


Find Windows User Name and Password
We suggest you use user name and password access Windows shares. Please follow the instructions below to find your username and password.
1. Open Control Panel.
2. Open User Accounts. You’ll see the login user name.
3. If you haven't set password, please click the “Create a password” button to create it.
Find Computer Name (Optional)
1. Launch Windows Explorer.
2. In the left-hand pane, find the "Computer" node.
3. Right-click it and choose "Properties".
4. In the window that appears, left-click the "Computer Name" tab. You should see a window that looks like the screenshot below.
The text marked in red is your computer name.
This will be the text to enter in the File Explorer’s "Computer Name/IP" field.

Find computer IP Address (Optional)
Alternatively, you could input the computer IP address in the “Computer Name/IP” field to access your computer.Please follow the steps below to find your computer IP.
1. Click Start, and then select All Programs.
2. Click Accessories, and then Command Prompt.
3. At the command prompt, enter: ipconfig
4. You’ll be see the window like the screenshot below. The IP Address or IPv4 Address is the IP of your computer.

Q. I get "timed out" error when accessing the Windows shares. What should I do?
A. Please make sure your iPhone/iPad and computer are connected on the same Wi-Fi. If it still doesn't work, open Firewall on Windows Control Panel and allow "File and Printer Sharing" program.
