Document Editing

Although FE File Explorer provides the plain text editing feature, users still want to edit other document formats such as word, excel, pages with professional apps. Therefore, we made the "Edit With" feature. Now you can edit documents with iWork apps, Office apps or PDF reader and save back to network shares or servers after editing.

Edit documents with professional apps

1. Open the contextual menu on a document.
2. Tap the "Edit With" button.



3. Select the regarding app to edit the document. For instance, you want to edit .docx, then select MS Word app.
4. All changes will be saved back to your server after editing.

Edit plain text file

If you want to edit plain text file, you don't have to use 3rd-party apps. Just open the text file in FE File Explorer, then you'll be able to edit it.
